‘And every day, the world will drag you by the hand, yelling, “This is important! And this is important! And this is important! You need to worry about this! And this! And this!” And each day, it’s up to you to yank your hand back, put it on your heart, and say, “No. This is what’s important.”‘ – Iain Thomas
I had a beautiful holiday weekend (which I actually took as a holiday) and am feeling so refreshed, rejuvenated and happy. Like deeply happy.
As I got into my to-do list this morning, I knew I wanted to record a solo episode on how I’m learning to put what’s most important to my heart first. This quote has been a foundational rock in my worthfull journey. It’s a reminder that I’m the one who knows best how my time should be spent. I do know what will fill me up with energy and love and joy — which will allow me to do my best work and give my best contribution.
It felt like a scary risk at first to try this (instead of always putting work and other people’s priorities first). But the more I explore putting my heart’s priorities first, the more I’m learning that everything else gets taken care of with my leftover time and energy. I like to call this the magic of worthfull living.
